Hannah’s November favorites

With a few major holidays just around the corner, people often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season.  Here is some music, clothes, foods, movies and activities to prepare for this busy time of year.

Music: As much as I love holiday music, it’s nice to listen to some other things during this time of the year.  Here are just a few of my favorite tunes to listen to to escape the nonstop Christmas music.

Give Me One Reason– Tracy Chapman

Have Mercy on the Criminal– Elton John

Pictures of You– The Cure

Life on Mars?– David Bowie

Perfect Illusion– Lady Gaga

Clothes: With fall in full spring by now, it’s good and fun to wear a variety of different warmer clothes for the season.  Some of my favorite articles of clothing include:

Combat boots– they are comfortable, supportive and casual and help your outfit stand out among others.

Long sleeve shirts– good fall colors to look for can include red, orange, yellow, or purple.

Flannels– you can find good flannels at almost any store nowadays.  For cheap yet stylish looks, try Goodwill or Plato’s Closet.

Food and Drinks: They may not necessarily be “fall themed” but here are a few of my favorite hot beverages and foods.

Hot chocolate

Potato or cheese soup

Movies: As the weather gets colder, some nights it’s great just to stay in, cuddle up with hot chocolate and watch a movie.

Grease (1978)

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Dead Poet’s Society (1989)

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

Activities: With the temperatures dropping during this time of the year, different indoor and outdoor activities are a great way to get out of the house for a while.

Ice Skating– at the Nelson Center, admission is $6.50 for adults (13 and up) and skate rental is $3.00.

Seeing a movie at the theater– ticket prices vary depending on the movie you see and the time.

Bonfire – bonfires are an easy and inexpensive way to hang out with friends and get outside!

Visit the Apple Barn– located in Chatham, they are open daily from 9am to 6pm until December 24th.
